Acids are very easily found, infact in most things there is a certain level of acid. For example vinegar and lemons taste very sour because of the acid inside them. Hydrochloric acid in your stomach is what helps to digest food, ascorbic acid found in fruits (vitamin c) keeps skin healthy and helps to make bones. Lastly omega acid inside oily fish which helps our bodies fight off infection and disease.
Acids can be very useful, the acid inside orange squash stops it from going off, the vingar which contains acid preserves pickles for long periods of time, however acids can also be a pain. Methanoic acid makes bee’s, wasps and nettle stings painful!
Acid is also the cause of sweat smelling!
